Today in Tha Wire, New Orleans bounce icon, Big Feedia, has a lot more to smile about these days. As seen on the Fuse TV, it's been a big year for the 38-year old Queen of Bounce. Freedia and her crew celebrated plenty of big moments, including the Queen's wedding to her longtime boyfriend Devon and Flash finally meeting his family. However, a dark cloud hung over her head and not only threatened her career and freedom, but her team's livelihood and the ability to care for her uncle Percy.

The Hip Hop legend has always been transparent when it comes to her personal life. This season on her hit reality show, Big Feedia Queen of Bounceshe revealed she was in serious trouble with the government over housing vouchers. Nola.com reported the superstar pleaded guilty in March to felony charges of stealing more than $1,000 from the Department of Housing and Urban Development between 2010 and 2014.

Instead of denying the charges, Freedia took responsibility for her actions and extended an apology to her family, friends, fans and the City of New Orleans.

Freedia braced herself for the unthinkable, which was 10-years in prison if convicted. The sentencing was originally scheduled for August 9, but was postponed to last Thursday. When "D-Day" arrived, U.S. District Judge Lance Africk handed down her punishment, which was 3-years probation and an order to pay $35,000 in restitution.

Freedia also told the court
she was now drug-free. Thankfully, her struggle with addiction and stress of going to jail is all behind her. As season 6 of
"Big Feedia Queen of Bounce" wrapped up, she took to
Twitter and thanked fans for understanding and holding her down through such a tough year.

Congrats to the Queen! We are extremely happy for you, and can't wait to see season 7.....You Already Know!!!
