Bow Wow Admits He Almost Died From Addiction to Lean
Bow Wow's been extremely vocal about his personal life in 2018. Now, after the passing of Mac Miller, who died of an apparent drug overdose last Friday (Sept. 7), Mr. Moss has opened up about his history with drug use and how it almost killed him.
The Ohio-bred rapper-turned-actor jumped on Twitter yesterday morning (Sept. 10) and revealed that he drank lean everyday while recording his and Omarion's 2007 collaborative effort, Face Off. While listing different instances where he was high he also admitted "The whole time i was on the UCP tour with chris I WAS SIPPING 4's atleast7 times a day [sic]."
After a show in Cincinnati while on tour with Chris Brown, Bow Wow says he came to terms with his prescription cough syrup addiction after he woke up in a hospital. Doctors told him he was suffering from withdrawal. "I never felt a pain like that ever," he tweeted. "That shit is not cool and i was doing it to be cool!"
"DRUG FREE IS THE WAY TO BE!" Bow concluded. "The young artists all the kids around the world.. dont follow a trend. Break the cycle." View of all his tweets in the gallery below.
Earlier this year Bow Wow sat down with The Breakfast Club and spoke on his feelings about suicide after announcing his next album would be the word spelled backwards. His depression may have stemmed from losing a son this year, which he announced in a tweet last month. "Im over everything. Mentally i feel detached im in so much pain bro," he added. Hopefully everything looks up for him as he prepares to tour with So So Def in October.
