Celebrate Howl-oween In Lake Charles
I'm sure my dog CoCo has no idea what Halloween is all about but doesn't matter because he is still the cutest American Bull Terrier green dinosaur I have ever seen! Halloween is always a fun time for families with kids. It's all about dressing up in super cool costumes, heading out to area harvest festivals, and costume parties, of course collecting plenty of candy along the way.
As a parent, of a child who loves to go trick-or-treating safety, is a big concern. I usually mix things up and go to city-run indoor events or trunk-or-treats as well as the traditional door-to-door candy crusade. Since 2021 I have used the Treat Map from NextDoor Mobile App to locate safe places to take my daughter trick-or-treating in neighborhoods around Lake Charles including my own. Here's how it works.
As an added bonus, NextDoor has extended its Treat Map to include dog-friendly locations! So, feel free to take your four-legged family members trick-or-treating this Halloween. In addition to the Doggie Treat Map, if you're not taking your pooch out to collect Scooby Snacks and would rather hand them out there's a way for folks to find your house. Just go to your NextDoor Mobile App and click on the Add Your Home button. In the spirit of Howl-oween, here are a few adorable doggie costume ideas. Enjoy! Have a wonderful Harvest Fest and Halloween with your families and pets.
