The Common Street Clinic, located at 1715 Common Street in Lake Charles is a sexual wellness center that is dedicated to keeping all persons, who are sexually active, healthy. The Common Street Clinic is an important resource for all sexual health and wellness needs, testing, treatment, sexual wellness counseling, and much more.

In conjunction with National HIV Testing Day, Monday, June 27, 2022, The Common Street Clinic is inviting the community to come out and get tested. From 10 am to 6 pm the public can take the opportunity to stop by and learn more about the many free services they have to offer. Plus, there will be plenty of swag bag giveaways, loaded with all kinds of goodies and free Kona Ice for everyone who gets tested. The theme this year is "HIV Testing Is Selfcare," because it's important that we understand that our health is our responsibility.

The Common Street sexual healthcare services are especially vital for the local African American community because people of color remain the highest group of new HIV cases in the nation. Even more startling is that younger African American age groups are not only contracting HIV but, other sexually transmitted diseases.

For more info about the National HIV Testing Day event, or more details about the free services being offered at The Common Street Clinic call (337) 439-1386 ext.117 or (337) 496-5214.
