Conway, JPEGMafia and More: New Projects This Week
Several anticipated projects premiered over the course of the last seven days. Look below to check out all of the freshly released albums, mixtapes and EPs of the week.
Prior to dropping his forthcoming debut solo album, Conway reflects on who he’s become with his latest release. The spitter from the streets of Buffalo, N.Y. with cosigns from some of hip-hop’s G.O.A.T.s offers Look What I Became this week. Nine songs deep, the Grimiest Of All Time MC’s new project features the collaboration with his Griselda Records cohorts Westside Gunn and Benny The Butcher, “Tito’s Back,” as well as the Jim Jones and Dave East-assisted “Vino D.” Look What I Became is expected to hold fans over until Conway The Machine delivers his Eminem-featured debut, God Don't Make Mistakes, which is slated to hit retailers sometime this year.
Last summer, not long after delivering his fifth multi-platinum studio album, Drake pulled up to the London-based Link UP TV and unleashed his “Behind Barz” freestyle. The freestyle receives an official release this week as a result of being included on the soundtrack to the new season of the Drizzy-produced Netflix series, Top Boy. The compilation album has 17 songs altogether and features contributions from UK hitters like AJ Tracey and Dave.
A month after announcing that his new album was on the way, JPEGMafia delivers All My Heroes Are Cornballs. Cosigned by the likes of Kenny Beats, DJ Dahi, Injury Reserve and James Blake, the 18-song project was previewed with the single “Jesus Forgive Me, I Am a Thot.” Starting next month, the Veteran artist will tour North America, performing in major cities such as Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston, New York and his neck of the woods in Baltimore.
