Drake Denies Liability in Detail’s 2014 Beatdown By Bodyguard
Drake is caught up in a legal case with a former producer who claims his bodyguard viciously attacked him at the rapper's home without provocation.
As we previously reported, producer Detail, whose real name is Noel Fisher, filed a lawsuit against Drizzy after he was hospitalized for days with a broken jaw and several other injuries by the hands of the rapper’s bodyguard. The hitmaker claims that he was pummeled by Drake’s bodyguard for refusing to produce exclusively for the Toronto rapper after the pair worked together on his 2013 album, Nothing Was the Same. Detail is seeking monetary damages for his hospitalization and emotional distress.
Drake has responded to Detail’s lawsuit back in September, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail. The OVO leader denies he's at fault and claims that the injuries the producer suffered were in direct result of his own carelessness and negligence.
Drake contends that Chubbs, his bodyguard, was acting in self-defense and Detail was assuming the risk when he came over his house at approximately 2AM. He also maintains that he wasn't involved in the altercation and therefore feels he's not liable in paying Detail's medical bills.
Attorneys for Drake and Detail had no comment on the matter.
