After our parish was devastated by two hurricanes, many people have not been able to receive the medical attention they need due to damages and closures.

Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter said in a press release:

Now more than ever, in light of COVID-19 and back-to-back hurricanes, access to quality healthcare is essential...we are honored to work with RAM and local volunteers to bring this event to Lake Charles.

The Remote Area Medical pop-up clinic, RAM, is coming to Lake Charles this Friday and Saturday, November 13-14.  The clinic will be located at the Lake Charles Civic Center. The patient parking lot will open no later than 12:00am (midnight) on Friday, November 13. As patients arrive at the parking lot, they will be provided with additional information regarding clinic opening processes and next steps. Clinic doors open at 6:00am.

Services available at the RAM free clinic may include dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental x-rays, eyeglasses made on-site, women's health exams, flu shots, and general medical exams. Free colon cancer screening test kits will also be available. Patients will also be able to get free glasses made on site for anyone who has a valid prescription dated within the last year.

Each patient will be required to wear a face mask and must take a COVID-19 screening before entering the clinic.
