Garbage, Trash, & Recycling Collection for MLK Holiday, Monday, Jan. 20
In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, January 20, 2020, City Hall be closed, and trash or garbage will not be picked up in Lake Charles on this day as well, said a City of Lake Charles media release.
Trash scheduled for pickup on Monday will be rescheduled for Tuesday, January 21. Trash normally scheduled for pickup for Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, January 22. Routes for Thursday and Friday will remain as regularly scheduled.
The Department of Public Works services, and recycling operations at Nelson Ball Field/Alma Ln, Wood Waste Facility, and the Roving Green Truck will be closed on Monday, January 20. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
The City of Lake Charles also added an additional reminder:
Containers and other items for removal shall be placed before the hour of 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening proceeding collection day. Containers shall be removed no later than 7 pm on the day of collection.
The owner, occupant, tenant, etc., is responsible for collecting any spillage from the container.
