Governor John Bel Edwards said we were doing good for a while, Louisiana is seeing 2,000 COVID-19 cases a day. Coronavirus cases are soring across the country and over the last three weeks East Baton Rouge has led the state with outbreaks. So, unfortunately the Governor is bringing the state back to Phase 2 operations, with modifications.

In an effort to slow the spread and save lives health officials say Louisiana must take action now. So the Governor said most businesses will go to 25% occupancy, bars in Parishes above 5% COVID cases will be closed to indoor sales, sporting events caped at 25%, places of worship 75% capacity where social distancing is possible, barber and beauty salons can open at 50%.

See the Governors full COVID-19 briefing details from Tuesday November 24, for the complete list of modified Phase 2 operations. These new restrictions are effective today November 25, until further notice. Governor Edwards reported Louisiana hospitalizations are at the highest levels since August, with more than 1,000 per day.
