Is MTV Replacing the Cast of ‘Jersey Shore’?

Despite a report from US Weekly, MTV says it has no plans to replace the cast of ‘Jersey Shore.’

“We love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun. We currently have no plans to recast the show,” a spokesperson told the Hollywood Reporter Friday.

Sources initially told US Weekly that MTV planned to bid arrivederci to Snooki and the gang after they filmed its fifth season this summer. According to the report, MTV wanted to find a much cheaper cast. (The current cast reportedly makes $100,000 per-episode.)

‘Jersey Shore’ is currently filming its fourth season in Italy.
