A lawsuit filed in 2019 claimed that Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri, was listening in on private conversations, even when people didn’t say “Hey Siri.” According to the suit, some of those recordings were shared with advertisers to help target users with products. Apple strongly denied the claims, saying they’ve never used Siri data for marketing and that Siri was built with user privacy in mind. Still, they decided to settle.

If you used a Siri-enabled Apple device between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024, and Siri randomly activated while you were having a private conversation, you could be up for a little bit of money.

Per the reports, Apple users who file valid claims can get up to $20 per Siri device, and you can file claims for up to five devices. That means you could get as much as $100, depending on how many people file and how many devices you’ve had.

To get paid, you’ll need to submit a claim form by July 2, 2025. You can choose to receive your payment by direct deposit, physical check, or electronic check. Just make sure you’re honest when filling it out; you’ll have to confirm that Siri actually activated without you asking.
