Experts are saying that a lot of the rain is expected along the I-10 corridor between Lake Charles to New Orleans. They are saying that this system could stall at any location in that corridor, which could cause flash flooding and tons of rain to fall.

One of the experts,  Meteorologist Zack Fredella, said,

STORM TIMING - Okay, here is the setup for this rain event later today and continuing into Wednesday. Tonight is when things get more problematic as this first batch of storms stalls out over some place in South LA. Where this occurs is one spot that could see as much as 10-15” of rain from this event. Once we get to Wednesday morning, a new storm complex will feed into this already heavy band of storms.

Wow, 10 to 15 inches of rain is a lot, which, if it happens, could cause major problems and flooding to any one given area. Now, for you here in Southwest Louisiana, what is the forecast that our local meteorologists are calling for?

Jacob Durham from Lake Charles NBC affiliate KPLC says,

All modes of severe weather are possible with damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and large hail. On top of the stronger storms, heavy rainfall is likely for most of the region. Don't focus on specific totals with these models; instead, the agreement is for widespread 4-8 inches of rain with locally higher amounts.
So be prepared. Some tips when we have a rain event like this are to remember to stay off the roads if at all possible due to flooded roads and streets. Also,if it looks like the water is deep, it probably is so the key is to turn around, don't drown. We will follow this closely and keep you updated as the system moves towards us and passes our area.
