If you are not from Louisiana, you have to understand that Mardi Gras is the second biggest holiday in the state, next to Christmas all year. In 2025, we saw a longer carnival season than we did last year. Mardi Gras got underway last night with the 12th night and the season will run to March 4th, 2025 this year culminating with huge parades the day of Mardi Gras.

There will be chicken runs in small Cajun towns all over Southwest Louisiana, parades, gumbo cookoffs, Mardi Gras balls galore, and Mardi Gras festivals.
