Has LSU Quarterback Jayden Daniels Done Enough To Win The Heisman Trophy?

Since the LSU Tigers fell to the Alabama Crimson Tide on November 4th, the focus of LSU fans has shifted to whether or not the Tiger signal-caller could win the Heisman Trophy. The question is, has he done enough?

As the 2023 College Football Regular Season comes to a close, all eyes are now on Bowl Games, and the College Football Playoff semifinals and Championship Game. That is, except for LSU fans. Since the Alabama Crimson Tide all but ended LSU's chances at getting a bid for the SEC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff, all LSU fans focused on is HOW Jayden Daniels can capture the top award in College Football.

Daniels, a transfer from Arizona State, has put together one of the most impressive seasons College Football has EVER seen from a Quarterback. There is no doubt Daniels will attend the ceremony on December 9th in New York City. The only question is if he did enough to win, or if playing on a 9-3 team will hold him back.

Since 2000, three quarterbacks on teams with three regular-season losses. The 3 QBs -  Tim Tebow, Robert Griffin III, and Lamar Jackson. Jayden Daniels has more impressive numbers than all three of those candidates.

This year, Daniels recorded 4,946 total yards and 50 touchdowns. None of the 11 quarterbacks who won the Heisman since 2010 accounted for more total yards through 12 games. Only one, Jackson, scored more touchdowns (51) than Daniels in the regular season. Tebow had also scored 51 touchdowns, but he had 976 fewer yards.
