McNeese Football Unveils New Locker Room [PHOTOS]

Football season is getting pretty close as we are just about a month away from the Kickoff of the college football season. The McNeese Cowboys got some pretty exciting news yesterday as they were introduced to their newly renovated locker room.

In June, the McNeese Athletics Department announced that the locker room and field house would be undergoing some construction to add some upgrades to their current facilities.

The upgraded facilities would have 116 custom hybrid lockers in the locker room, similar to what is housed in the Los Angeles Rams' locker room. The lockers are made from a gray nano technology laminate which is self-healing and scratch resistant on the sides, doors, and footlocker face with upper and lower compartments.

According to the Athletics Department, each locker includes a stainless steel pull-out, tilt-down should pad, and knee brace gear rack and tray with a fan drying system integrated to circulate air in the padded compartment, forcing the air into the pads. The lockers will also include a helmet fan drying system, electrical outlets with two USB charging ports, LED lights, a lift-up headrest with a fold-down backrest system, footlocker box with digit lock capabilities.

On Sunday evening, the McNeese Football team got to take a glimpse of their new locker room and their reaction was priceless.

You can see some of the reactions of the players are absolutely priceless. Second-year Head Coach Gary Goff was also very excited about the upgrades when the plans were announced in early June.

"I am very excited about our new locker room," said second-year head coach Gary Goff. "The new state-of-the-art lockers will not only provide our team with a facility to be extremely proud of, but will also assist in our recruiting efforts. Every student-athlete wants a nice locker room and this will be one of the best!"
