Predictions & Hurricane Names For 2025 Atlantic Season That Starts June 1
It's only a couple of weeks away, folks. The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season will be here before you know it. Now is the time to start to get prepared before a storm sneaks up on you.
The season will officially begin on June 1, 2025, and run through November 30, 2025. In Louisiana, hurricanes are a well-known threat, and you’ve likely experienced the devastation and aftermath of storms before.

In 2024, 18 tropical depressions formed, with 11 of them turning into hurricanes, with five of them becoming major hurricanes. Hurricane Francine last year hit Southeast Louisiana in Terrebonne Parish, which is a little too close for comfort for us here in Southwest Louisiana.
Experts have weighed in on this year's season, including AccuWeather. According to Newsweek,
This year, AccuWeather is predicting 13 to 18 named storms, with seven to 10 strengthening into hurricanes.
Of those storms, three to six could be a direct hit to the U.S. In its forecast, AccuWeather warned that Texas, Louisiana, Florida and North Carolina face a higher risk of direct impacts this year than other states.
