URGENT! USPS Issues Alert For Louisiana and Texas Residents to Check Mailboxes
KNGT-FM - Have you checked your mailbox lately? If you live in Louisiana or Texas, the U.S. Postal Service says now is the time. If your mailbox is broken, rusty, or in the wrong spot, your mail might not show up like it should. This week, USPS is asking everyone to take a few minutes and inspect their mailbox… before it causes bigger problems.
The U.S. Postal Service delivers more mail than any other postal service in the world, reaching nearly 167 million addresses across the country. No matter where you live, big city or a small town, they make sure your mail gets there. That’s why it’s so important to keep your mailbox in good shape. A broken or hard-to-reach mailbox can slow things down, not just for you but for your whole route.
That is actually a bigger issue than you think. It's such a big deal that the USPS allots one week every year to check on your mailboxes.
From May 21 to May 27, it’s Mailbox Improvement Week. The USPS uses this time every year to remind people to check their mailboxes and make sure they’re in good shape. This alert is especially important for people who get their mail through city, rural, or highway delivery routes.
