The McNeese Cowboys are off to one of the best starts the program has ever seen and there doesn't look to be any signs of slowing down as the Cowboys are gearing up for the coaching debut of Head Coach Will Wade.

McNeese will be on the court once again on Tuesday night when it hosts Mississippi University for Women in the final game of head coach Will Wade's 10-game suspension.

The Cowboys are 7-2 and have been completely dominant through the first nine games of the season. They were last in action on Saturday as they defeated UT Martin 91-80. With the win, the program captured its fourth win over a non-Southland Conference Division I opponent for the first time in 35 years.

During the win for the Cowboys, Shahada Wells and Christian Shumate were fantastic, Shahada Wells scored 25 points and Christian Shumate added 22 in the win over UT Martin. With this performance and the performance on the road against UAB on Tuesday, it was announced Monday that Shahada Wells is the Southland Conference Player of the Week.

On Monday, McNeese Mens Basketball Coach Will Wade sat down and visited with the media ahead of the Cowboys' matchup against the University for Women on Tuesday inside the Legacy Center.
