Forecasters Predict Below-Average 2023 Hurricane Activity For Louisiana
Colorado State University has released their first prediction for the 2023 Hurricane Season and it looks encouraging for Louisiana and the Gulf Coast.
Of course, a prediction is just that...a prediction, but it looks like Louisiana and the rest of the Gulf Coast could be looking at a calm 2023 Hurricane season in relation to the last few years.
CSU is predicting 13 named storms, six of those being hurricanes, and two hurricanes becoming major hurricanes for the 2023 season.
Their thinking is that the formation of an El Nino system this year could affect the development which in theory contribute to below-average activity in the Gulf this season.
The next Colorado State University hurricane prediction will come out at the beginning of hurricane season on June 1. It seems by then we'll know more about how strong the EL Nino system will be this year and how it will affect the storms.
