CPKC Holiday Express Train Not Coming To Southwest Louisiana This Year
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Express Train will not be making stops in SWLA this year.
In addition to celebrating the holidays, the Holiday Express Train started in 1999 to raise money and awareness for nearby food banks and nonprofits.

Why Is The Holiday Train Not Stopping In SWLA?
KPLC is reporting that the "beloved Holiday Express train" has been retired.
CPKC operated two trains during the holidays to make stops all over the country. The U.S. Holiday Train, the other train, will remain operational and continue touring this holiday season.

This is a picture of me and my kids (Elijah and Khloe) waiting in line to board the KCS Holiday Express in 2013 at the Railroad Museum in Dequincy. It was so cold that day, I was miserable. I've always said that "it couldn't get cold enough in Louisiana for me to wear a jacket". Well, that day it was, and I was the moron with no jacket trying to play tough guy, lol.
The CPKC U.S. Holiday Train is making seven stops in Louisiana this year:
- Shreveport
- Coushatta
- Pineville
- Simmesport
- Baton Rouge
- Gonzales
- LaPlace
