19 Louisiana Students Sent to Hospital in Grant Parish Bus Crash

GRANT PARISH, La. - This past Friday morning (9/11/26) a school bus in Grant Parish, Louisiana was involved in a crash that resulted in the bus flipping, and 19 of the 21 students on-board sent to the hospital. Two of the students had to be airlifted to a near by hospital as a result of their injuries.

No fatalities were reported in the crash.

Bus Crash In Grant Parish Sends 19 Students To The Hospital

Although details of the incident are still scarce, KALB reports that Friday afternoon, September 11, 2026, a school bus traveling along Highway 71 near Campground Cutoff just north of Montgomery, Louisiana was involved in a serious crash.

As a result of the crash, the school bus flipped on its side with the driver and students inside.

It's not known the age of the students involved in the crash or the extent of the injuries suffered by the students, but it is reported that two of the students were airlifted to a Shreveport, Louisiana trauma center.

The other 17 students were brought to Rapides Regional Medical Center for treatment of possible injuries and to be evaluated.

As of now there is no information as to any injuries to the bus driver.

Friday afternoon (9/11/26), the Grant Parish School Board released the following statement:

We appreciate the outpouring of support and concern following the school bus accident that occurred today near Montgomery.
Emergency responders have been on the scene, and the safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. **No casualties have been reported at this time, and all students have been safely transported from the scene.**

In the statement to Facebook, the Grant Parish School Board says they will release an update with more information as soon as is deemed appropriate and confirmed. Louisiana State Police are leading the investigation into what caused the crash.
