Janet Jackson Reportedly Not Banned from NFL
Social media has been buzzing about Justin Timberlake’s announcement that he’s performing at the 2018 Super Bowl halftime show. Of course, the news also conjured up memories of his infamous “nipplegate” scandal with Janet Jackson at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004.
Now comes word that Janet was never banned from the NFL, if we are to believe TMZ. According to the outlet, an NFL spokesperson reportedly told them that Janet was never barred from the NFL following the nipplegate incident. "There’s no ban,” said the rep.
So, hypothetically, if JT wanted to bring out Janet as his surprise guest during his halftime performance, it appears that the NFL wouldn’t have a problem with that.
When asked if Timberlake will invite Janet as his special guest, the NFL spokesperson replied, "We are not going to comment on any speculation regarding potential guests. There may be no guests. Along with Pepsi, we’re excited to have Justin Timberlake."
Either way, it will be interesting to see what Justin Timberlake will do for his halftime show. The Super Bowl 52 event will air live on NBC from the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Feb. 4, 2018.
