Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Migos, Tyler, The Creator and Rapsody Nominated for Best Rap Album at 2018 Grammy Awards
Nominations for the 2018 Grammy Awards have been revealed, and among JAY-Z's Grammy-leading eight nominations are a nod for Best Rap Album. Hov's 4:44 will be up against Kendrick Lamar's DAMN., Migos' CULTURE, Tyler, The Creator's Flower Boy and Rapsody's Laila's Wisdom.
Jay's 2018 nomination is the rapper's eighth time being nominated for Best Rap Album, while Kendrick has picked up nods for two of his previous studio albums—good kid, m.A.A.d city and To Pimp a Butterfly. For Migos, Tyler and Rapsody, it's the artists first time being nominated for the award.
Among JAY-Z's other nominations for music's biggest night are Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Music Video, Best Rap Performance and Song of the Year. Hov will also be going head-to-head with Kendrick Lamar in a number of categories including Record of the Year and Album of the Year.
In related Grammy news, Jay and Kendrick aren't the only rappers with a strong presence at the upcoming awards show. Childish Gambino is also up for major awards, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year, and Lil Uzi Vert earns a nod for Best New Artist.
