Jay-Z’s New ‘4:44′ Album Will be Produced Entirely by No I.D.
More information has surfaced about Jay-Z's new upcoming album, 4:44. After finally confirming that he is actually dropping a new project after a lot of speculation and mystery, and yesterday announcing that he's returning the hyphen to his name, Billboard reports that veteran Chicago producer and label head, No I.D., will produce Jay's new album in its entirety.
The rumor was first circulated by director Chris Black on Twitter, and it appears that Billboard confirmed the speculation. This is big news, considering that some of Jay's best work has come when he's worked solidly with one or very few producers—The Blueprint was produced entirely by a young hungry producer, Kanye West.
As for No I.D., who was recently named executive vice president of Capitol Music Group, he and Jay have previously teamed up for work on several projects, including American Hustle, Magna Carta Holy Grail, Blueprint and Blueprint 3.
4:44 will be released on June 30 exclusively to Tidal and Sprint customers.
