Here’s What Rappers Are Saying About Kanye West’s Jesus Is King Album
The hip-hop community is singing the praises of Kanye West following the release of his Jesus Is King album on Friday (Oct. 25).
Hours after the project dropped, several rappers have jumped onto social media to salute ‘Ye on his new, faith-based project.
G.O.O.D. Music President Pusha-T wrote, "#JesusIsKing out now on all platforms. #UseThisGospel feat. Clipse and Kenny G...God is Great...congratulations Ye...always love."
For his part, Vince Staples hopped on his Twitter account to give 'Ye his props—even if it is quite possibly a little tongue-in-cheek. "I appreciate Kanye's love for Christ cause thats how I feel about Crippin," with ScHoolboy Q replying, "On God!"
Using an Instagram story posted last night, Trippie Redd congratulated Kanye on his new album. "Kanye, I'm proud of you. You went from calling yourself a god to dropping Jesus Is King. Amen," he said. "I'm proud of you."
Meanwhile, Quavo tweeted, "Jesus is King!!!! Fire." Quavo included fire and a blue waves emoji to express his approval.
Even spiritual rapper Lecrae co-signed Kanye's ostensive spiritual awakening on the album. With a tweet, he commented, "Regardless of how you feel about #KanyeWest the content is refreshing to hear. God will get His glory. And #JesusIsKing."
Kanye, who has performed at several Sunday Service events this month, is expected to go on tour in support of the album.
