Kendrick Lamar's most recent, highly celebrated release, Damn, will pass 200 million streams in its first week.

While the official numbers won't be in until Friday, April 21, this is a major feat, as K.Dot would be the second artist ever to accomplish those numbers, aside from Drake. According to HITS Daily Double, Damn, Kendrick's third major label album, got over 50 million streams in just 24 hours. The site reports that Damn (TDE/Interscope) had 120 million combined streams at Spotify and Apple Music on Friday and Saturday alone. Additionally, the tracks from Damn, which dropped on Friday, April 14, currently are holding down nine of the Top 10 slots on Spotify and the Top 11 slots on Apple Music.

Basically, this is a huge win for Kung Fu Kenny and TDE. The concept album is already being hailed as among the year's best, and with due cause. Layered and complex, yet highly accessible, the record continues Kendrick's already incredibly impressive run of putting out high-quality, thoughtful works.

You can purchase the album via iTunes here if you haven't already.
