West Coast rhymer Kurupt has been hit with a lawsuit by his estranged wife Jovan Brown, whose stage name is Gail Gotti, for bailing on her after she received a terminal cancer diagnosis.

According to The Blast, Jovan is suing for spousal support the former Dogg Pound rapper allegedly owes her. She claims in her suit that ever since she was diagnosed with cancer, Kurupt has refused to pay her medical bills and living expenses. Kurupt, whose real name is Ricardo Brown, and Jovan were married for over a decade before they divorced in 2017,

“Our separation definitely hurt, as I could not understand how after 17 years” he abruptly “left me in my time of need when I needed his support and love the most," she stated in her complaint.

“Before [Kurupt] left our relationship, I was diagnosed with terminal cancer," she added. "Although I earned a salary prior to separation and [he] knew I needed the money, when I asked [Kurupt] to assist me with my treatment, he responded 'go get a regular job' and I should 'get a boyfriend to help me pay for my treatments.'"

Jovan also alleges that Kurupt told her that he has a new lady in his life and has to focus on providing for his new family. She also claims that the rapper is a drug abuser, which has caused him to become verbally and mentally abusive to her.

Jovan is seeking $14,000 in monthly spousal support, $40,000 in lawyer’s fees and half-ownership of Kurupt’s companies, including his marijuana line called Moonrock, which she claims that she handled the business end before their divorce.

A hearing has been set for July. Attorneys for Kurupt had no comment on the matter.
