Schools around the world are rolling out their schedules for the upcoming school year, and Lake Charles Charter Academy and Southwest Louisiana Charter Academy recently announced theirs. Both pre-k through eighth grade charter campuses will return on August 24.

The instructional format will coincide with the current health phases that have been rolled out by the state. During Phase One, all students will operate with virtual instruction. The attendance will be monitored through the Schoology software and assignments will be graded.

Families in need of assistance will be given school-issued devices for completing assignments. In Phases Two and Three, pre-k through sixth grade will attend school five days a week. All static groups will be maintained in order to help minimize potential viral spread during the pandemic.

Seventh and eighth grade students will likely report on alternative days to coincide with social distancing guidelines. Also, buses will operate at fifty percent during Phase Two and AT seventy-five percent capacity during Phase Three.

If you would like to see the full plan for the upcoming school year, all you have to do is visit the Lake Charles Charter Academy website at lakecharlescharter.org or you can learn more about Southwest Louisiana Charter Academy's plans at www.swlouisianacharter.org.
