Lake Charles Recreation & Parks 2024 Calendar Of Events
The City of Lake Charles just announced that they have a few scheduled events lined up in the community! The 2024 Calendar of Events is part of the Partners in Parks Events. This means that each event is family-friendly, open to the public, and free. Mayor Hunter said, “We are thrilled to welcome a new year with a jam-packed slate of events for the first quarter."
- The Christmas Tree Recycling Drop-off event. If you have a live tree, the City of Lake Charles and Team Green are collecting trees for the LC Rebound initiative. This Lake Area program is making mulch with the trees and using them for various other city beautification projects as well. This event ends on January 6, 2024.
- The CHRISTUS Ochsner Health SWLA Community Health Fair is Saturday, January 13, from 10 am to 12 noon. It will all take place at Drew Park (416 DR Michael DeBakey.) Drop by Drew Park from 10 a.m. – noon for health screenings, vital health information, and more.
- Join the community at McMillan Park on Saturday, January 20, for a special event hosted by the SWLA Credit Union, offering useful tips on Financial Literacy. The whole family with have fun during this interactive event, while learning useful and important tips.
- The public is invited to the Gator Meet-n-Greet, on Saturday, January 27, from 10 a.m. – noon. Join the City and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for a great family, a learning opportunity, and the announcement of Gator Pond.
- The Sasol will host the Nature in Focus series event educating the community about how critical Pollinators are to the world. Such as the honey bee.
- Celebrate Mardi Gras at the Mask Making Workshops at Historic City Hall and participate in the 3rd annual Children’s Mardi Gras Stroll on February 11. Enjoy kite-flying fun and put your skills to the test.
- Team Green Family Fun Day and the Calcasieu Parish Public Library’s Book It To The Park Family Fun Day for fun & games at Lock Park, located at 1535 Ryan St. SWLA Yoga Fest will host its 2024 event
- The Region 5 STEM Center will present a Lesson in Urban Ecology. In addition, the city welcomes to community to enjoy a Citywide Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by Children’s Miracle Network, to close out the first quarter.
