
Mo’Nique Sues Netflix For Race And Gender-Based Discrimination
There's nothing like a woman scorned! Apparently the Queen of Comedy is still fuming over the streaming giants disrespectful $500K offer to do her own comedy show. Oscar-winning actress and female comedy legend, Mo'Nique has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Netflix accusing them of race and gender-discrimination. HipHollywood.com reports the suit stems from the same fallout the star had with the media company back in January 2018.

The star whose real name is Mo'Nique Hicks is furious with the production company for refusing to renegotiate their original offer. She brought her argument to radio and TV, saying her resume' made her just as valuable and demanding Netflix raise the bar and pay what she was worth. Though Netflix acknowledged Mo is indeed an icon, they stood by their offer because that's how much they thought she would bring their service at the time of the offer. That she didn't do anything recent enough, to warrant more money.
CBS reports in court docs the Precious actress accused the media streaming company of short-changing her because of her race and gender. She , she was offered far less than her Hollywood counterparts and s and and claimed the hell in court, where the Oscar-winning actress
Netflix responded to her lawsuit and released the following statement: “We care deeply about inclusion, equity, and diversity and take any accusations of discrimination very seriously. We believe our opening offer to Mo’Nique was fair — which is why we will be fighting this lawsuit.”
