Nas, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Rich The Kid and More: Videos This Week
Staying up to date with every rap video is a handful, but that's why XXL is here to do the legwork for you. As we continue to hold it down in the new year, here are the highlights of all the new visual heat that dropped this week.
Nas is a living legend and has always taken a creative angle with his music. For his critically acclaimed album Nasir, he released its accompanying videos as one full-length movie. He's recently begun separating the footage into individual clips with the latest being the album standout "Cops Shot the Kid." The moving video shows Black youth being chased by cops and facing brutality. Slick Rick also appears at the end in a very tasteful manner, considering the beat is based on a sample of one of his biggest songs, "Children's Story."
Rich The Kid has had a lot of wild videos over the last year, and in 2019, it looks like he'll keep the streak going. In the video for "Splashin," Rich is a mad scientist of sorts, where his eyes glow green and the girls around him have expanding assets. Also, Swae Lee pops up for some fun, in a very big coat.
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, an artist who never forgot where he came from, recently dropped a video for the heartfelt "4 Min Convo (Favorite Song)." The visual is simple, with the Bronx native walking around one of his luxury cars and hanging out on a rooftop at night. He recounts his road to success and the ups and downs so far.
