Saints players, coaches and fans are devastated this morning after NFL referees failed to make a call on an obvious penalty which changed the course of the NFC Championship game.

The play in question was a pass from Drew Brees to Tommy Lee Lweis when Rams defender Mikel Robey-Coleman hit Lewis at least a couple seconds before the ball could get there in an obvious pass interference which was not called.

Plus when Coleman hit Lewis it was also a helmet to helmet contact which targeting could have been called as well.  Here is that play.

After the game was over, Saints head Coach Sean Payton held his press conference and explained how he had just got off the phone with the NFL front office and they admitted that the play in question should have been called a penalty.

The Saints lost in overtime 26-23 on a Rams 57 yard field to end their season.
