Seasons greetings from Once Was Inc., and Louisiana State Police Troop D! The Christmas holidays are here and Once Was Inc is ready to celebrate our area Veterans with free hams and toys! The Veterans community outreach nonprofit was launched in 2018 by husband and wife Petty Officer Michael Edmond (DJ Navy Vet) and his wife, longtime educator Racquel Edmond. The military couple's mission is to assist Veterans by connecting them to resources and services available at military facilities.

Once Was Inc. teamed up with Rouses as part of their Service Saturdays initiative with the 1st  Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway. It was a huge success! They gave away 200+ turkeys to the deserving Veterans of SWLA and their families. This weekend...they are coming back for another Service Saturdays event.

The 1st Annual Calcasieu Christmas will take place this Saturday, December 3 from 11 am to 1 pm.!  As always this holiday event is to benefit local Veterans and their families. Lousiana Troop D will host this event at 805 Main Street. Calling all Veterans in SWLA! Come out and celebrate with family fun, games, live music, and much more. That's not all!

Just in time for Christmas the first 200 Veterans with military ID, will receive a free ham and children will receive a stocking filled with toys (child must be present.) For more details on this holiday event see the flyer below:
