This post is packed with hilarious pics that scream only in Louisiana! Seriously, where else can you find a state this cool to call home? We’ve got the best food (yes, gumbo counts as a food group), the wildest parties (Mardi Gras, anyone?), the most festivals (is there anything we won’t celebrate?), and the friendliest people who’ll feed you even if you just “stopped by to say hi.”

We’re also the birthplace of some of the world’s most original and toe-tapping music—Jazz, Zydeco, Cajun, you name it. And don’t even get us started on the people! We’ve got a mix so diverse it’s like our very own cultural gumbo: French, Spanish, African, Canadian, Chinese, Native Americans, Cajuns, and Creoles. What more could you ask for? A pet alligator? Yeah, we’ve got those too. But if he acts up, we'll skin em' and make a sauce or mabye some new shoes!

Louisianans live life a little differently than most folks, and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks to our gumbo pot of cultures and traditions, we’ve got our own way of doing things—like spelling and pronouncing words in ways that make English teachers cry. (Seriously, try explaining “Tchoupitoulas” to someone out of state.)

Oh, and our laws? Let’s just say they’re as unique as our food. What’s normal for us might leave people elsewhere scratching their heads, saying, “Wait, you’re allowed to do that?!” But hey, when life gives you crawfish and king cake, you don’t ask too many questions.

We’ve got some downright wacky customs and traditions here in Louisiana. Honestly, sometimes we have to laugh at ourselves—because let’s face it, we’re extra! I stumbled across some hilarious pictures that perfectly capture our unique flavor of chaos.

So kick back, grab a beignet (or two), and get ready to chuckle at these a few Crazy Things You’ll Only See in Louisiana. Spoiler alert: you’re going to love us even more
