Lake Charles heritage restaurant Pat's of Henderson took a major hit by Hurricane Laura more than two years ago. Since the devastating storm of 2020, the local restaurant has been working feverishly to reopen and welcome SWLA residents back to their dinner table. It's been a long time coming for them and close to a lifetime for hungry patrons ready to eat some of the good ol' Louisiana cuisines the restaurant has become known for.

For more than 50 years, the award-winning restaurant has been serving authentic Cajun recipes inspired by delicious Louisiana cuisine. In April the iconic Lake Charles restaurant announced that it was putting up a new sign, certainly revving up excitement among loyal customers that doors will open soon. Then today, May 9, 2022, Pat's of Henderson posted job openings via Facebook.

We are so excited to announce that the hiring process is starting this Wednesday! Starting at 8:30 - 3:00 we will take applications in person for all positions.

Nicholas Perioux had just taken over the landmark restaurant from his parents when Hurricane Laura struck. Since then it has been a struggle to rebuild. Something everyone in SWLA can relate to. Perioux initially thought they would be able to reopen, in December 2021. However, like so many hurricane victims in SWLA, he has many issues with insurance coverage and construction setbacks due to delays or shortages of building materials.

On the bright side, the iconic Lake Charles eatery is getting closer and closer to celebrating its grand opening. One thing is for sure, they will need a lot of workers to handle the many customers inching to dine at the longtime local restaurant once more.
