I remember back in the nineties, Heavy D was running hip hop with his swag and club tunes that had everyone rocking from the south to Money Earning Mt Vernon. With Heavy having things going well for him, he was eventually able to introduce some new music and artist to the scene.

This is when we were introduced to Pete Rock and CL Smooth. These guys brought lyrics, hot beats and even more swag to the game. I remember being a big fan of Pete Rock, he was the producer, dj and he also had lyrics that showed he could just about do it all.

They went their separate ways but they are now touring and doing shows again. But the word came out earlier this year that Pete Rock was doing some music with Smoke Dza who is a hot up and coming artist on the scene now. They recently talked with The Breakfast Club about their new music and also Pete's thoughts on Lil Yachty and his partner in rhyme CL Smooth.
