I was on my way to work and just wanted to take a look around without being in harms way at what the city looked like. I took the interstate to get here as I didn't know what to expect on the roads and being higher us gave me the chance to really see what was happening in the area.

There were places that looked as if they shouldn't have been touched by the storm that were affected. There is also word that there were several people who were in rescued last night due to the weather being as bad as it was. The reality of the situation is that it is not over. Tropical Storm Harvey has gone into the Gulf of Mexico and will be touching our area late in the night tonight and going into part of the afternoon. While there is no talk of evacuation, we need to be cautious of our surroundings and make plans to leave if we have to. Make sure all of your paperwork is in a safe place and properly protected. Also make sure you have made arrangements for your pets and check on your elderly relatives if at all possible.

Check out a few images that I caught on my way to work today and imagine that this all happened overnight with more of this coming today and tomorrow. Please be careful out there and make sure that you are prepared for the worst while hoping for the best. Also keep it locked for more details on closures in the area and other very important information that you may need.
