Shreveport Man Arrested for Throwing Rocks at Firefighters
Shreveport Fire Department responded to a call of an apartment fire in the early morning hours. Firefighters battled the blaze at the Jolie Apartment Complex on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 3:04 AM. the Shreveport Fire Department received a report of an apartment on fire in the 1000 block of Quail Creek Road. The first unit arrived on scene within six minutes and reported heavy smoke coming from the first floor of a two-story structure.
It took the efforts of thirty-two firefighters operating thirteen units to bring the fire under control. The blaze was finally brought under control at 3:21 AM. No injuries to fire personnel or citizens were reported.
One occupant was in their apartment directly above the fire and was able to escape with their dog. Approximately four apartment units were affected by the fire, though the full extent of the damage is undetermined.
The official cause of the fire remains under investigation. Shreveport police ended up arresting one male after he was taken into custody after witnesses say he was seen throwing rocks at responding firefighters.
