Slim Thug dropped by Hot 97’s "Ebro in the Morning” to discuss his start in Houston as an artist, Jay Z, Beyonce, Black Lives Matter, rappers moving their money to black banks, and more.

The H-Town hip-hop veteran detailed how he rose to fame on the underground circuit, and later to national fame when he later hooked up with Pharrell Williams.

According to the successful entrepreneur, he stole a song from Jay Z.  “I Ain’t Heard of That” remix was originally supposed to be the remix for Jay’s “Change Clothes.” The plan was for him and Pharrell to contact Jay, because Slim also wanted the song if Jay wasn’t going to do anything with it. Before they could hit the Blueprint rapper up, the song leaked. After running into each other sometime later Slim says Jay Z let him know that he really wanted that song as his own.

The Boss Hogg rapper also states that had he known Beyonce before recording his verse for “Check On It,” he wouldn’t have let Jay Z steal her.

Slim also discussed how he and other rappers in Houston recently met and sat down with the mayor to come up with ideas to help improve the relationship between law enforcement and the hood, as well as moving their money over to black banks. For more watch the full and informative interview above.

Slim Thug’s latest album Hogg Life, Vol. 4: American King is due in stores on Friday, August 5.
