Power Outage

It wasn't a storm or the heat but it was big enough to knock the air conditioners off for about 20,000 people on Wednesday afternoon.

Water and electrical service will be interrupted across portions of South Louisiana beginning today. Here's where and when the interruptions are planned.

It took a little more than a month to get over 93,000 south Louisiana residents back online following Hurricane Laura.

Service has been restored to over one hundred thousand customers in the area in a little less than three weeks.

Almost 100,000 Louisiana residents are still without electricity two and a half weeks after Laura's landfall.

If you were one of the 6,000 Louisiana residents without power yesterday, you're probably wondering what caused it.

There's a large power outage from Broad Street and Enterprise Boulevard and west to Ryan Street.

UPDATE 10:10 a.m. -- DeQuincy Memorial representatives confirmed that they are evacuating some patients to Vinton after a portion of the roof was blown off the facility. The hospital, however, is still open and receiving patients as needed.

We have been notified that W.W. Lewis Middle School in Sulphur has been closed today due to a power outage.  Parents are encouraged to go pick their kids as soon as they can.  It is unknown if the school will re-open tomorrow. We will update you on if the school will be open tomorrow...
