I can't wait for the Lake Charles grand opening of the all-new cheeseburger restaurant Smalls Sliders (135 W. McNeese Street!) You've heard the saying "Big things come in small packages." Right? Well, that describes the sliders this restaurant is serving up to the 'T'. A small burger, packing a big taste!

Founder, Brandon Landryis a cheeseburger slider fanatic and he came up with a brilliant way to reintroduce this mini-American classic and serve it up on the big stage. And that's how the concept of Smalls Sliders was born. The menu? how about seasoned-to-perfection cheeseburger sliders that are made fresh to order with sides like superior spud waffle fries, signature dipping sauce, refreshing fountain drinks, and amazing shakes?

They're not like any restaurant you've ever been to and that's not an accident, it's by design. Equipped with a streamlined drive-thru and walk-up window it's all about good sliders and quick service. If you've been passed by the McNeese Street location, watching the restaurant come together, you have noticed the Smalls Sliders building is made of a shipping container.

They call it "The Can," and it's painted in a vibrant orange color. A color they mixed up and copyrighted themselves calledSmorange! Landry's, Smalls Sliders cheeseburger empire has some star-power when it comes to investors like the vets from 10 Point Capital and former New Orleans Saints quarterback and NFL legend, Drew Brees.

By the way, when it's our turn to celebrate the Lake Charles Smalls Sliders location, we gotta make sure our turnout is bigger than the one in Metairie, LA. Let's show Drew Brees Southwest Louisiana knows how to show up and show out! Below is a look at the crowd that turned out in Metairie. I think we can do better. Don't you SWLA?

The Lake Charles Smalls Sliders drop has begun in SWLA! The "Can" was dropped on June 6, 2024, with an exciting crane-toting welcome party. It was awesome! Lake Charles franchisees Rob Carter, co-owners Michael BoyerTodd Touchet, and Jonathan "JP" Perry are on hand at the newest Sliders location to greet the community. On day one, they showed Southwest Louisiana they are here to give back. Carter said,

“Our attention-grabbing Smorange Can will not only stand out visually as a pillar of our community but become part of our daily routines - from celebrating our local friends and neighbors to sponsoring local events and more. We can’t wait to say ‘Thanks for Slidin’-Thru!’”

Smalls Sliders owners honor SWLA's first Smalls Town Heroes, recognizing two McNeese State University Basketball players for making a BIG difference. Antavion Collum and Christian Shumate were honored for their selfless contributions to the Lake Charles community.

  • When he's not on the court, Antavion inspires the next generation of leaders by volunteering as a basketball coach at area summer camps and tournaments. He also donates his free time working with Toys for Tots and regularly supports Mid-South Food Bank.
  • Christian is also big on community service and works as a youth mentor at area summer camps. He keeps himself busy during the off-season, working with kids and donating his time and money to shop for kids in need during the holiday season. Christian also helps with Christmas shopping for underprivileged children.

Congrats to Antavion and Christian. Special thanks to the local (OM) operations manager, Michael Boyer, his crew, and everyone at Smalls Sliders for supporting Lake Charles student-athletes on day one!
