Thursday’s Homicide Victim Identified

On the morning of Thursday, September 5,  the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office w received a call about "a possible dead body" found behind a shopping center in the 3000 block of Highway 14 in Lake Charles. After deputies located the body, "initial investigation" showed that Lorenzo S. Green, 36, homeless, was responsible for the death of the man, said a media release.

Green is now in the Calcasieu Correctional Center and is charged with 2nd-degree murder.

The victim has since been identified as Tracy R. Byrne, 40, homeless. He's not native to Lake Charles. His cause of death will be determined by the Calcasieu Coroner.
