Want To Go On A Cruise But Not Vaccinated? Now You Can!
Attention cruise lovers! Have you been wanting to get back on a cruise ship but you are not vaccinated? Well, now you can! Several of the major cruise lines have announced over the past week or so that they will no longer require guests to be fully vaccinated to be able to come aboard and take that much-needed vacation.
Since the pandemic began, cruise ships literally had to shut down for almost a year. When they were finally able to start backup operations, there were certain stipulations. You had to be fully vaccinated with both shots and you would still need to take a test within 48 hours of boarding and present the results of your negative COVID-19 test upon checking in to board.
That has been the standard now for almost a year but now things have changed. One of my favorite ships to cruise on is the Royal Caribbean ship. They have announced that they are happy to start welcoming all guests back starting after September 5th, 2022 with no vaccine requirements.
So if you are not vaccinated and want to take a trip, guests 5 years old and older will still need to take a test within three days of boarding and present the results of your negative COVID-19 test upon checking in to board.
For vaccinated guests, you no longer need to take a take COVID-19 test but they ask that you still disclose that you are fully vaccinated upon checking in to board. The way to do that is to just present your vaccination card.
Carnival and Norweigan cruise lines have followed the same suit but you may want to check with them directly to see if what we said above applies to their protocols to board.
With two ports so close to Southwest Louisiana in Galveston Texas and New Orleans Louisiana, folks around the Southwest Louisiana area love to and often do take cruises. I know I have one booked in December and I can't wait!
