Watch Mannie Fresh Make a Beat From Scratch in Mass Appeal Segment, “Rhythm Roulette” [VIDEO]

Mannie Fresh is hands down one my top 10 favorite hip-hop producers of all-time, and he’s so good that magazine Mass Appeal taped the NOLA legend for an episode of their Youtube segment, “Rhythm Roulette.”

There are instructions for how the tracks are produced for the segment. Each producer who appears on “Rhythm Roulette” goes to a record store and picks three albums to use samples from. The trick is, they must pick them blind folded.

Sometimes the producers hit gold with the records they blindly choose, and others make do with what they have. The clip gives you a chance to see just how brilliant producers are when it comes to sampling classic records to remix into something else that could potential become classic in it’s self.
