College Humor's latest skit 'Why Engagement Rings Are a Scam,' is pretty dead on truth. Why is the diamond ring a symbol of marriage? According to them, here's why it's a scam.

Not sure if this is the complete truth or not, but it makes enough sense to me to not want to buy one ever. As if I didn't have issues with diamonds because of the infamous conflict diamonds. This video add's fuel to the fire of my issues with diamonds.

After watching this video, you're still going to go out and buy your fiancé that expensive ass piece of carbon rock, that actually doesn't come form the ground looking as refined as it does when you see it in a jewelry store. Yep, we're all just one big world of moronic traditionalists, stricken by the luster of those beautifully polished diamonds. But you either buy that ring or be single for the rest of your life, right?
