Will Smith And Jermaine Dupri Honor Essential Front-line Workers
It's Nurse Appreciation Week 2020, May 10-16! On behalf of all of us at 107 Jamz and Townsquare Media, we wanna send a major shout-out to all of our SWLA nurses! Thank you for the courageous work you do every day on the front-line. Just so happens, Hip Hop legends, Jermaine DuPri and Will Smith, think you and other essential front-line workers are pretty special too.
Matter of fact, the two music icons are joining forces to launch a limited edition capsule clothing line through The Fresh Prince's streetwear brand, Bel-Air Athletics. Quite simply, the clothing line is all about saying thank you. The limited edition for America's heroes will officially launch today at 6:00pm on belairathletics.com, so be sure to show your support.
The Bel-Air Essential Front-line collection will feature the message, “To All, On The Front Lines, We Appreciate You” on each piece. The collection includes graphic icons honoring different front-line workers, from doctors and nurses, teachers, transportation, postal services, and restaurant workers to child care workers and many others.
The new collection is affordable, with a mixture of pieces to include Bel-Air Essentials Hoodie ($75,) Thank You Long-Sleeve Tee ($55), and Essential Workers Tee ($40.) According to reports, 25% of the proceeds will be donated to Frontline Foods, which supports restaurants impacted by the stay-at-home measures and feeds healthcare workers.
For Dupri being a part of this project was a no-brainer, saying in a statement, “It’s important that I recognize our front-line workers out there that are working to keep us all safe — they are the real heroes.
He added. “I’m grateful to have a part in celebrating their courage with this Bel-Air Athletics launch. Together, we look forward to supporting Frontline Foods, so we can give back to those in need.”
Join JD and Big Willy for a big launch party on Instagram Live this Friday May 7, at 6:00pm. The event will feature the So So Def music mogul rockin’ a tribute set on the 1s & 2s.
