Young Thug, Quality Control, ASAP Ferg and More: New Projects This Week
Several anticipated projects premiered over the course of the last seven days. Look below to check out all of the freshly released albums, mixtapes and EPs of the week.
Days after announcing that his new project was on the way, Young Thug gifts fans with his debut album, So Much Fun, on his birthday. The album’s first single, “The London,” features Travis Scott and J. Cole, who serves as the executive producer for Thug’s new project. Next up for the “Best Friend” rapper is Super Slimey 2. The sequel to 2017’s collaborative effort with Future is slated to also feature contributions from Lil Baby and Gunna.
For a second time Quality Control sets out to prove that the leading record label has the streets on lock. At 36 songs deep, Quality Control: Control the Streets, Vol. 2 showcases the depth of the QC roster, which includes established acts like Migos, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty and City Girls, and also newcomers such as Marlo, Layton Green and Duke Duece. Travis Scott, Meek Mill, Playboi Carti, Young Thug, Megan Thee Stallion and DaBaby also make appearances throughout the lengthy compilation that features the singles “Intro” and “Baby.”
A week after welcoming home his Mob member A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg introduces his latest release. Titled Floor Seats, the Harlem baller’s nine-song project has collaborations with Rico Nasty, Asian Doll and Flacko, who appears on the DMX-inspired single “Pups.” The previously released tracks “Floor Seats” and “Wigs” can also be found on the project.
