According to a press release, on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 7:55 p.m., officers from the Lake Charles Police Department were called out to 1908 Winterhalter Street to investigate a shooting where two people had reportedly been shot. 

After further investigation officers learned area community members held a candlelight vigil for the three victims of last years triple homicide at McMillan Park. During the vigil a shooting occurred due to an argument.

One victim suffered a gunshot wound and went to a local hospital for emergency surgery. The second victim was reportedly only grazed by a bullet.

22-year-old Andre Jordan Broussard, of 1825 4th Avenue, Lake Charles, La. turned himself into police detectives following the shooting.

Andre Jordan Broussard was arrested and booked on Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. Broussard’s bond is set at $350,000.
