Best known for his classic, "When a Man Loves a Woman," legendary soul singer Percy Sledge has died, he was 73.

In a story originally said to be a hoax, CNN as well as the East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana Coroner Dr. William "Beau" Clark have confirmed that the legendary Percy Sledge has in fact died.  According to reports, Sledge passed away this morning (Tuesday April 4, 2015) in Baton Rouge at the age of 73.  The cause of death is not known at this time.

This in no doubt a massive blow to the world of music.  With a career that's span more 50 decades, Percy Sledge sang his way into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with his very first single, "When A Man Loves A Woman."  Released in 1966, that song topped the R&B and Pop charts for weeks on end.  That song will live forever in the hearts of anyone who's ever encountered love.  Other than the timeless holy love hymn, Sledge went on the release countless hits such as "Woman", "Warm and Tender Soul", "Take Time and Know Her" and more.
