When the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton hits theaters this week, it will star Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre. But did you know Dre was originally supposed to be played by Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan, who dropped out because of scheduling conflicts with Fantastic Four? That’s just one of the facts packed into the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies, which takes you through South Central for a trip into Straight Outta Compton!
After 16 years since the release of his 1999 album 2001, Dr. Dre will release his latest project, Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre on August 7, and he may just break the record for most first week sales for Hip-Hop in 2015.
The new Straight Outta Compton trailer is here and it doesn’t look like what you’d expect. If you went back in time a few decades and told the members of highly controversial hip hop group N.W.A. that they would one day be the subject of a glossy, mainstream biopic, they would probably wouldn’t believe you. But here we are: the “world’s most dangerous group” has its own Hollywood movie now.
The main cast for the highly anticipated N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton has been selected and not everybody is happy about the outcome. Plus DJ Khaled readies the launch of his signature headphones.
